For questions, or for a free 30-minute phone consultation to help you decide whether I’m the right therapist for you or for your teen, I invite you to call me at 925-484-2237.
I'm based in the Tri-Valley (San Francisco Bay Area), and currently offering sessions for adults and teens throughout California exclusively by secure video conference. I’m not able to offer sessions for young children at this time. (This paragraph was most recently updated on December 3, 2024).
For current fee information, please call me. I don’t work directly with insurance companies. However, if you have insurance that covers “out of network” costs, and you choose to use your insurance, at your request I’ll give you receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for their use in reimbursing you for fees that you’ve paid to me.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has published the following free, downloadable documents to help people access insurance benefits for mental health care. They pertain to federal mental health parity law, which requires that insurance companies reimburse fees for mental health care the same way they reimburse fees for physical health care:
Understanding Parity: A Guide to Resources for Families and Caregivers (excellent information for individuals too)
Know Your Rights: Parity for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Benefits
The Essential Aspects of Parity: A Training Tool for Policymakers
Alternatively (or additionally), people in my practice usually find that they can use their flexible spending account to pay for therapy.
I don't use email in my practice because it isn't a secure form of communication. I value your privacy and respect your confidentiality.
